Nextgreen’s R&D department attended SROI Workshop by UPM at the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products, UPM. This event is a continuation of the technology transfer between NGPP and UPM in July 2022. The social return on investment (SROI) measurement was conducted to further-proofed the biomass-based food packaging from oil palm EFB’s promising direction towards creating innovative and zero waste production. Through SROI, the monetary values can be used to represent social, environmental, and economic costs and benefits, which then allows the calculation of the ratio of benefit to cost. Through knowledge transfer, understanding SROI analysis aligns very closely with Nextgreen’s mission of upholding corporate environmental and social responsibility, improving the sustainability of operations and future Research and Development (R&D) projects and ventures.
