Nextgreen Global Berhad (NGGB) proudly announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sawit Palm Oil Industrial Cluster Sdn Bhd (SPOIC), a subsidiary of Sawit Kinabalu Group (SKG). The MOU, signed on 6th June 2024, lays the groundwork for the establishment of the Green Technology Park (GTP) in Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia. The project is set to be developed on a 400-acre land owned by SPOIC and will include Collection and Processing Centre (CPC), Pulp Mill, Raw Water Treatment Plant, and Biomass Steam & Power Generation Plant.
The signing ceremony took place at Sawit Kinabalu Group’s new corporate office, with the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, gracing the event. The MOU was signed by SKG Managing Director and CEO, Encik Victor Ationg, and NGGB Managing Director, Dato’ Lim Thiam Huat, and witnessed by Datin Stella Ambrose (Sawit Kinabalu Group) and Dato’ Mohd Yusof Din (Nextgreen Global Berhad). The GTP in Sandakan will not only drive SKG towards sustainable growth but also support Sabah’s state government in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
